Bus tickets will be more affordable on P.E.I. this summer

The price of monthly bus tickets for all ways in the region will be cut by almost half this summer to help Islanders deal with increasing inflation.

A monthly transit pass will be $20 for adults from June till September, down from $45.

Seniors and post-secondary students will spend $10, down from $35.

All transitways on Prince Edward Island are free for kids and students K-12.

Monthly transit passes can be bought at Shoppers Drug Mart and Murphy’s Pharmacy sites in the Charlottetown area, the T3/Maritime Bus terminal, Holland College bookstore, and town and city halls in Stratford Cornwall and Charlottetown, and through the HotSpot mobile app.

Transportation and Infrastructure Minister James Aylward stated that reducing public transport fares will ease some economic stresses on Island families.
